1_What is your budget? up to $1500, although I can go up to $1700~ if there is a very good deal in that higher range.

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? preferrably 17+ in.

3_What screen resolution http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/display_resolution do you want? 1680x1050 or higher (4:3 or 16:9 doesnt matter which)

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deskt [...] t_computer laptop? Desktop replacement

5_How much battery life http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery do you need? whatever the average amongst laptops is

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? yes

Source Games (css, tf2, etc.) - High
New releases over time such as Left 4 Dead or Starcraft 2 on high

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_editing , surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)
Casual use of Photoshop/Sony Vegas, watching HD movies/listening to music

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
At least 200gb

For that budget i would go with Sager NP5793

That's pushing your budget a bit, but that sager is a very good machine.

If you don't have that much wiggle room, go for a Gateway FX series.

Yeah GATEWAY FX series have a very good price/performance ratio :)
