Hi, my " iPAQ2410" finally gave up. Have replaced the internal battery but it didn't help.
Now I'm looking for a replacement. None of the stores I have visited carry any PDA's anymore. It seems that everybody is using a smart phone.
What is most important to me is to keep all of my contacts, appointments, and notes together. Internet is not as important and I don't need a camera or phone.
I would like a Blackberry but according to Verizon it costs $30.- more per month in addition to our reg. cell phone bill. Have been told that I can't buy a Blackberry, etc. without connecting to Verizon, even if I buy it somewhere else.
Is there a way to disable the phone service?
HP now makes only 2 versions of the iPAQ.
Do you have any experience with the "Palm Pilot"? Maybe this is outdated also?
I appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thanks in advance.
The PDA is indeed pretty much dead. I've still an iPaq hx2790. I've also got an Axim X30 and an iPaq h1915 - both work just fine.
If you're looking for a PDA, the only real place you're going to find one will probably be off Ebay. Which the advent of the smartphone, they just aren't popular anymore (not that they ever really were).

Thank you, frozenlead. I have been looking at the iPAQ111 on ebay. There are few available but I was wondering if I would be making a mistake and if there is something new and better out there....
Well, I bought the iPAQ111 Classic on Ebay. Seller had never opened the box and it still had the seal on it.
As it turns out, there is something wrong with the screen. It responded to the tapping only intermittendly and now it doesn't at all. Everything else had worked. I called HP and have to send it back for repairs....
