Hi

My mom's laptop's HDD was getting a bit long in the tooth, so I decided to upgrade it.
The original was a 80GB Hitachi Travelstar 7200RPM.
The replacement is a 320GB Seagate Momentus 7200.4.
They're both SATA.

I cloned the 80GB onto the 320GB using Acronis True Image Home 10 on my desktop and my desktop booted from the 320GB, but Windows obviously complained about all the new hardware lol.
Anyways, I was feeling really happy at this moment, because I thought all that needed to be done was for me to drop it into the notebook.

Boy, oh, boy was I wrong :(

I've spent hours trying different configurations in the laptop's BIOS, playing around with jumpers on the the new HDD (SATA/300 to SATA/150), cloning it again(no re-sizing of partitions). Nothing works.
I also haven't found anything to help me on the internet.

The original 80GB is back in and working it's old slow self now, but I'm sure there's something stupid I'm missing.

Please tell me there is someone who can lend me a helping hand. :(
