Having trouble getting mobile internet

I have a friend that lives 5/6 miles from the interstate, and at the moment he has a satellite service that's horrible. I mentioned that I knew of people that used services such as verizon wireless and at&t that he might be able to use. The only problem is he lives about 5/6 miles from the interstate and can't get the signal from his house. Is there any way to get a repeater or build a type of tower to get the reception over to his house? If he can do that what would he need to do, and how much are we talking about (ballpark figure of course)? For a second part of the question, what wireless internet service will allow them a no-cap internet service? The biggest problem with the satellite service is after so much bandwidth they drop them down to very slow speeds. Thanks for ANY information you can provide!
