College student -new laptop.

Alright so im heading off to college here soon. I'm goin to aviation school so i need a Laptop that can play Flight Simulator X pretty well.

hmm about $1300 around there could differ either way.- canadian

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15''-18''+

3_What screen resolution do you want?
something decent.

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
somewhat portable, although i'll purchase something to carry it in so weigh/size is not a huge factor. im not using it for travelling, just wanna be able to bring it to class with me. i am open to a desktop replacement.

5_How much battery life do you need?
well be plugged in mostly all the time..if im gaming on it plus a bigger screen, i dont expect a long battery life. e

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

listed above, Flight Simulator X gold edition- medium to high settings --keep in mind this is a very CPU and RAM dependant game, as i needs to load things on landing, like buildings,AI traffic,scenery etc.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)
websurfing, writing reports for school, some music, I can live without the blue ray--ill put that extra money into the CPU or something.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
320 GB..although 500 is always better

1) Whats the better processor for SPEED/POWER? Intel Centrino core 2 duo ? or a AMD turion X2 dual Core..or say an Intel pentium dual core ? is INtel better than Centrino for gaming?
