MacBook Pro or Sony Viao SZ?

Ok so im posting this on Toms because I know you guys have a good knowledge of computers hardware. However, if your an apple or a sony hater (there are lots of both, ), please don't post in this thread because I don't want anything biased.

Anyway, Im debating between getting the 15 in mac book pro or one of those sleek sony sz's. Currently, there is a 15'' 2.33ghz core duo, 2gb ram, mac book pro sitting on my floor unopened. I wasn't planning on getting it without this much research, but my grandmother got it for me without warning me. Now im really torn between just opening it, knowing that the macbook pro is a highly respected laptop with alot of power, and almost full windows functionality, or returning it, taking the money, and buying one of top sony szs because of their awsome size.

The most important factors for me are, in order of importance to me:

Battery life! I need to be able take this everywhere without having to plug it in.

Portability: whats the point of having a laptop if its too heavy to take places? I want my laptop to be small and LIGHT. however, I dont want the screen to feel like its going to fall off either.

Stability: whats the use of getting it if its going to break in a few months? It has to last for at least four years. this goes for the battery as well... I dont want the battery crapping out on me in a year

speed: I HATE slow computers.

the Keyboard: it has to be comfortable enough to type of for long periods of time

The screen: needs to be nice looking, clear, good for movies, etc.

gaming: nothing fancy, just should be able to play some old school games that I might take with me on trips and such, like civ III, age of empires, starcraft, etc.


Ok so my impressions so far:

Macbook Pro:

pros (haha pun -__-)

sexyiest design out there
its a high quality apple product... not likely to need servicing, and wont get viruses
fast
A little heavy, but still thin
full sized keyboard
excellent quality apple screen
comes with osx, an excellent operating system
comes with apples suite ilife
good acess to ports (usb, etc)
has that intelligent gyroscope thing so the hd doesnt die when its dropped
good quality speakers and touch pad
larger screen then the sz
larger keyboard
pretty much noiseless
the camera is higher quality then the sz's ( i will use the webcam to talk to my parents)
did I mention sexy?
Its already sitting in my room!

Cons:
I dont know about the newer models, but I know for a fact that old macbook pros had a battery defect that caused them to swell up and warp due to exessive heat. Apple had a recall for these batteries, but i don't know if this issue is fixed or not
battery lasts only about 3 hours with average use
heavier and larger then the sz
no right click!
very hot
some of the windows drivers dont work yet (likely to be fixed with new editions of bootcamp)
likely to get stolen at college


Sony Vaio Sz's

Pros:
SMALL and LIGHT
you can buy an extended battery for it, unlike the macs (I think you cant for the macs... but mabye you can)
looks pretty good as well
fast as well
fingerprint scanner (wtf am i going to use this for?)
glossy screen (i like the glossy better, it makes colors alot richer. the macbook has a matte screen, and its kinda hard to return it and get a glossy one now...)
not likely to have alot of computability issues

Cons:
Sony product... therefore its lasting quality is questionable
stock battery only lasts like 3 and 1/2 hours with average use
comes bundled with a CRAPLOAD of bloatware that will be a pain to get rid of
seems kinda gimmicky (fingerprint scanner? wtf...)
web cam isnt as good quality
comes with f-ing VISTA... I hate vista... its such a ram and hd hog
not as secure... its microsoft
screen isnt up to apples quality
small keyboard


Ok so those are all the pros and cons I can think of for both. I really need help on this... I cant make a decision at all. I would like to know your opinions!
