I was reviewing several review articles about PPCs vs. Palms. I got a bit lost and kept getting distracted by fancy pop-up adds-Can anyone say ADD?-.

I was hoping if someone could point me in the right path. I am looking for:

-a PDA that is friendly with several e-books-mainly medical-

-preferably has a cell phone phone built in or in the very least accepts cell. chips.

-i care little for video, audio or cam features.

-WiFi and bluetooth compatible.

Any article or advise is greatly appreciated!

Would be good if you would tell us something about how much you want to spent on the device.

Problem is that if you want to read eBooks on the device you should go for a VGA device. At least for me it is a pain to read eBooks on a small display with 320x240 resolution. VGA is the way to go there. These devices, especially with a build in phone are quite explensive.

If i had to choose i would go for a PDA only device and a seperate mobile.

Now I have no problem reading eBooks at QVGA with the right reader. Obviously a matter of personal preference here. The main quality I require in the reader is the ability to change fonts & reformat the text to fit the screen. Certain other abilities are nice (bookmarking, graphics viewing, an accurate 'goto') but the main 2 are requirements for me.

I do usually enlarge the standard font, but I have no problem with having less on the screen. Some people dislike this-just like I dislike scrolling horizontally to read the entire line. Different strokes for different folks, y'know?

One feature I've used which isn't reader-specific is Sony's 'jog wheel'. I would imagine that other devices have similar features but it enabled me to scroll thru the book one-handed. Unfortunately Sony no longer makes PDA's-but I believe they're working with Ericson to make cell phones now. I haven't looked at those but if those have the 'jog wheel' navigator then they might be exactly what you want.
