Hi all it's been a while since I've been able to read here, BUT I was
wondering if someone could reccommend a good program for manipulating
Ringtones?

What I need it for is, I have some ringtones I like and use, not ones
that came with my phone, But ones that I downloaded.

The problem is, is that the volume on these is kind of low, so I was
wondering if there is a program that will let me somehow CHANGE the
volume, and then let me resave it to my phone.

I already know how to do the uploading to my phone etc..

(Sanyo 8200)

Thanks in Advance

I actually answered this in a thread from a couple weeks ago. The Midi
ringtones seem to be fine, it's the WAVs that are quiet, and I think it's
because they have to be compressed in order to fit on the phone. Conversion
from WAV to QCP (which is a compressed format) is not lossless.

Which type of ringer are you talking about?

Well, actually it IS a .mid file . It sounds fine on my computer,
albeit
slightly lower in volume. However once I transfer it to my phone the
volume
is even lower. I've been thinking of (if this can be done) trying to
import
it into Cool Edit (which I own) turning it back into a .WAV file,
jacking
the volume, and then reversing the procedure turning it back into a .MID
file (again if Cool Edit has this capability, I know it does a lot, Just
not sure if it will do THIS).

I didn't have the time last night, and I am not sure if Cool Edit will
handle .mid files though.

Thanks for the answer Steve.

I bought Ringtone Converter for $18.95 from Codingworkshop.com to use with my
Verizon Kyocera 2325 and 3035. It's a great little program that saves in
many different formats, including MIDI, and comes with a built-in composer,
and you can download a free trial. I don't recall whether it does what
you need, but hey, you can try before you buy...

I am not affiliated with Coding Workshop other than being a satisfied
customer.

you can try the snap media software. or you can try a site such as this...

http://www.pcs3g.com/

I've used it several times. As a matter of fact this is how I got the
ringtone I originally was writing about in this post, uploaded to my phone.

Yes, it's a stupid question. (Just kidding.)

Use a site like 3Gupload.com or this free site

http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/

The free site doesn't allow you to store uploads online. 3Gupload does.
3Gupload, I believe, is less than $10/year...

Steve, there's also http://www.pcs3g.com It lets you upload your own
ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, etc.. to your phone for free. It
also has many there to choose from .

I've used this one too. Totally free. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I'm glad you posted it for other people's benefit. I just stick stuff on
my web server and download it to my phone from there. :)
