Is anyone knowledgable regarding SD cards by Matsushita Electronic (the ad
indicated that they were best known for its Panasonic brand name products),
PQI and Toshiba. The price is very attractive but what good is something
if it doesn't work and hold up.

My PNY 256 (which is a Toshiba) has been a work horse; several hours of
recording changed daily... used for mp3 audio books, 25-75% deleted at end
of each day, new material added. Never malfunctions, no problems aside
from needing more capacity.

Panasonic cards are supposed to be the most reliable and have the fastest
transfer speeds. My 256MB Lexar is a re-branded Panasonic.

Anyone have experience with the 32x Lexar 512MB card? They seem to be
the least expensive of the fast cards. I have had good luck with the
32x Lexar 256MB card (which is a Panasonic).

Thanks.

Jeff

I also have read good comments regarding Panasonics... I guess my
question is does Matsushita Electronics make *all* of Panasonics? I
recall two stereos in the 70s/80s one by SilverTone and one by Marantz...
price difference was a factor of 5x ... in actuallity, excepting the
case, they were the same thing (of course SilverTone was prohibited from
advertising that... but Consumer Reports wasn't).

Looking for the best bang for the buck :)

Where do you find non-SanDisk cards? All I can find in the stores and computer
catalogs are SanDisk.

My most recent purchases of an SD card and CF card were direct from
kingtson.com. The shipping was free and the pricing was competitive.

Among the cards I have are two 512mb Pansonic high-speed cards, which
switch about allot as my camera uses them, as does my JumpDrive Trio.
One of the 512mbs I bought was DOA (which is the only problem I've had
with any of my cards), and naturally it was replaced. Shy of this, I
have had no issues with any of the 10 cards I have.
