It doesn't appear to be possible to register this program anymore, and
I'm starting to see nag screens. I want to pay for it, but the author
doesn't seem to respond to e-mails, and the old web-based payment link
is gone as well.

Too bad -- the software seems functional and also inexpensive. :-(

Any ideas?

Is there a similar program out there that'll run on my little old m105
(PalmOS 3.5.1)? I mostly like the 4x4 icon displays and the fact that
it'll present a password screen with contact information at power/boot
time.

Thanks!

Here in comp.sys.palmtops.pilot,

True, but I was hoping for a less questionably legal alternative.

if the developer has abandoned the app while the app is still
available from reputable sources and you can't register, who's going
to come after you, the virtual developer, how will they file a lawsuit
if they don't exist?.

You raise a very good point. If the company is in fact defunct and
their software has been abandoned, it might not be so bad to use it
in spite of the software license.

Part of the point behind my question was to determine their actual
status, since a quick DejaNews search pulled up nothing definitive.

If the company is indeed dead, it would be very hard to pay them. :-)
