Hi,
I'm recently planning to buy a notebook with a P4 2.0 GHz CPU. However, I'm not sure how much RAM do I need for such a CPU? Is 256 DDR RAM enough? Thanks.

Well, its not how much ram u need for the cpu its how much ram u will need to run your system. Most decently priced notebooks seem to be using 256 MB. If your using this for work and stuff it would be more than enough. It could even handle some gaming. 512 MB seems to be the upcoming standard but right now thats in tower systems not nootbooks. Don't worry about it, 256 mb should be enough, but it also depends on what u are using the system for. What are u using it for?

I agree that should be enough unless the upgrade for 512 is under $125, then go for it. Otherwise you most likely will not need it on the notebook.

Is the notebook going to replace or supplement your desktop? Instead of buying a new desktop people just buy notebooks to replace it. If your going to just supplement your desktop then 256 is going to be enough. If you want to replace get 512.
