Hello

This is my first post in this group. I turn to you, since Asus doesn't seem to be interested in giving any support.

At the end of last year I bough an Asus 8200 T2 Deluxe GF3 graphics card. The 3D performance of the card worked great. But I had problems with slow 2D performance. I discovered the problem when I was using ACDSee (picture viewer program). I check my video animation's sequences with it. I run it in slideshow mode, with no delay. And it runs through my image sequences from the disk at a fair framrate and I get a decent idea of how it animates. But with my 8200, ACDSee performance was slow and lagy. And I didnt have the problem in Win98 on the same computer.

My previous graphics card was a 3DFX Voodoo3 and after getting some help from a 3D forum. I searched my computer for 3dfx, voodoo and glide files/registry entries and deleted them. And suddenly I was rid of the problem, 2D performance was as good as before. I was shiny happy! But just recently the problem has returned, same miserable 2D performance. And now I also get laagy 3D performance, in both OpenGL and DirectX.

I did an new search for voodoo3 files on my computer, and found two : WINNT/system32/voodoo3.dll and WINNT/system32/drivers/voodoo3.sys. If I try to delete them, Win2000 just immediately reinstalls them ARRRGGHH!!! I don't know if they are causing the problem or not, but it seems likely since I did delete ALL voodoo files before. And I don't know where they came from either. I did install the latest Nvidia drivers(23.11 and the 3D glasses drivers) recently. But I am not sure exactly when my problem returned. Reinstaling the drivers or removing the 3D glasses drivers doesn't help. Please help before I go bonkers....

My computer setup:

PIII 933MHz CPU
900MB 133 Ram
ATA100 60GB disk
VIA chipset (Latest VIA 4in1 fix installed)
Dual boot : Win 2000 (SP 2) / Win 98
DirectX 8

Thank you and best regards:
