Hello

I was wondering if I can setup my Series 2 Tivo to connect to my wireless
network for it's regular downloads instead of using my phone line.

My service number starts with 151 and from reading the online resources at
TIVO.COM it seems I cannot.

Any way around this?

Thanks,
Tim

I maybe mistaken, but Series 2 Standalone's begin with 240. I would think a
151 would be series 1. For DirectTivo, I have no idea.

Yes, this is a DirecTivo.

Thanks,

You have a Hughes HDVR2 which is incorrectly referred to as a Series 2.
All Series2 TiVos are standalone DVRs while your DVR is a "next generation"
DirecTV DVR with TiVo.

I just got off of the phone with DirecTV and they say that the USB ports on
these units are currently disabled. The next unit coming out should have
USB enabled and hopefully a software upgrade for legacy systems.

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks,
Tim

The USB ports on the DirecTV/TiVo units are indeed disabled (though, I
think they at least provide power).

As for DirecTV's future plans, I don't think anyone knows that, least
of all the DirecTV CSRs.
