I have an old Creative cd-rw thats worked fine up until a couple of days ago. I'm using Nero 5.0.31 and when I try to burn anything, audio, data it asks for me to insert a blank cdr and when I do it dosen't do anything. If I put a blank cdr in before i start Nero it ejects and asks for a blank cdr. Just dosen't want to read the blank disc. Any one have any ideas? has my burner just gone bad? Thanks.

Have you changed anything on your system just prior to this problem starting?

Can you put a regular CD in the drive an let Nero do a speed test on it?

If that doesn' work try a CD cleaner. Could just have dust on the lens.

I've got some friends who go to a shooting range regularly. They would be pleased to have yet another Creative drive as a nice, shiny target.

I didn't want to give him the bad news about Creative.
I have lost two of their drives, one being a replacement.

I won't loose any more though.

I have a creative drive and no problems, but your only telling the truth from what you experienced. That should make you a good person.
