My nephew recently got sent the Caribe bluetooth worm and (!!) installed it
on his NGage.
His NGage sent it to my sister's 3650 and she installed it too!

So i got the job of sorting both the mobiles out.

Easy enough - i downloaded the removal tool from the Kaspersky Anti-Virus
Labs.
I transferred it to my 7600 and then sent it to the 3650 via Infa-Red, to
avoid using the 3650's bluetooth.
It installed and removed Caribe - a second run of the removal tool showed
the 3650 to be rid of Caribe.

Next i looked at the NGage and a scribbled note from my nephew...
He tried to remove Caribe from both mobiles - he backed up both mobile's to
his pc using a bluetooth dongle.
Dunno how he did it but he next restored the 3650 backup to his NGage.
Result - the NGage is still infected with Caribe and is as good as useless.
The NGage shows nothing but a Memory Full error when he tries to access any
menu functions.
The 4 way jog button does nothing either.
So navigaing through the menus to clear the NGage internal memory, or
possibly reset the mobile is impossible.
Also it cannot receive the Caribe removal tool via bluetooth - he disabled
bluetooth before wrongly restoring the 3650 backup, and now the menu is
accessible.

Endless searches on the www have got me no answers for a fix.
Using the *#7370# code to reset the NGage fails - asks for an Unlock Code i
use 1234 but it does nothing.

Plugging the NGage into my pc via USB is no good as is any attempt to
connect to it's bluetooth.
In fact i'm sure that the NGage's internal memory is inaccessible via either
bluetooth or USB so exactly how he managed to restore the 3650's backup
wrongly escapes me!

The nearest Nokia Service Centre is 40 miles away and will try a software
reflash - the NGage is still covered by warranty.

Is this my only option?
Is there no way for me to fully reset the NGage and clear it's internal
memory and settings?

Thanks.

Martin.

the default security code for Nokias is 12345 not 1234

May help.
