Anyone know of a list of websites that discuss modifying digicams for various
tasks? Such as remote control of cams suspended from baloons or model RC
aircraft.

Google "kite" and "camera" - or "kite" and "photography." There's a
lot of such stuff out there - including how to modify popular digicams,
photos taken from kites, etc.
