I'm currently thinking of buying a Notebook for gaming:
My question is regarding if HDspeed will be the limiting factor in my system??

----
Dell Inspiron 8000
850 PIII
256MB RAM
15 tft sxga
32MB Geforce2go
----

I can choose between a

HD 20GB
13ms read/write seek-time
4200 rpm
ATA-4

or a
HD 32MB
12ms read 13ms write seek-time
5200 rpm
ATA-5

I dont actually need 32MB space, but considering the specs.
given below of my soon-to-be gaming-machine, will the HD-speed be
the limiting factor? The fastest HD to date in Notebooks is 5200rpm.
There is a price difference of 400$ I think.
If it's not worth it I am considering buying a CDRW/DVD combo for the extra money.

32 MB of hard drive spave? You have barely enough space to install any games, not to mention the entire Windows operating system!

Anyway if you were referring to 32GB, I think you should consider other options. I'm not sure about laptops, but I guess there are better options out there. My friend has a laptop, and we know that his laptop is not as fast as mine because I have a faster hdd than his. So hdd is the bottleneck. But if I were to choose between the 2, I would go for the 20GB model because it is only a tad slower, and you do not need any larger hdd. Higher spindle speeds could mean loewr battery life as well.
