Hi,
Have a 12XL300 Presario laptop, that I purchased about 1 yr ago. Never dreamed that I would get involved with "tweaking, performance issues, ect., but I have. Other then getting a new system, is there a way to "overclock" my Celeron CPU? I have applied almost every performance tweak from X-Setup utility and TweakXP.com Have VIA chipset, and their web forum(good one) has a BIOS tweaking guide but doesn't pertain to notebook BIOS which are "set light by OEM." I read with great interest, "Intel Celeron's Overclocking" abilites (with good results)on Tom's HardwareGuide. Benchmark results: 600Mhz Celeron(Coppermine CPU Core) 92 mhz x 9=(828Mhz) with good stability. Being new to this forum, I hope that I'm posting this in the right area. I searched all the "overclocking" forums and didn't find any pertaining to notebooks/laptops. Understand, the complexity of opening of laptop(sterile environment), but I am really tired of 600Mhz Celeron. Thanks. PS. Contacted authorized Compaq Service/Repair shop--"Would have to replace CPU/Motherboard-would not get any "bang for your $$$buck".
