taking advantage of amazon rebates

I am thinking of switching our Tmobile family plan over to Cingular's
family plan. I looked on Amazon and they have some great rebates on
there when you sign up for an individual plan. Has anyone signed up
through Amazon and then switched over their plan to a family plan once
the phones arrived? I was wondering if the rebates still go through.
Getting two moto razors for free just by making an extra phone call
would be awesome. Thanks!

Yes, you should take advantage of rebates. Rebate mfg's recognize that only
2% of people will actually take the time to do the rebate. I would
encourage you to do the rebate, because the money is yours, and if you can't
find a better deal, then the money becomes theirs. Alas: my web site
affiliation uses rebates. Better would be giving you the money savings up
front; but historically, people don't always keep the plans, and the person
who "runs" keeps the phone, and someone has to collect the early termination
fee. Alternatively, the agent loses his commission AND the phone. Some
rebates (like mine) are for meeting the minimum requirements for me to keep
my commission. Others are just "dumb" and hoping you won't collect them.
Hard for anyone to tell the difference between the good well meaning
rebates, and those that are just a pain in the bum. I hope mine are easy to
understand. dr

Which is the reason you should not do it. If enough people just said no to
rebates they would go away and they would just offer realistic sales prices
and we would all win. I have done my last one.

It's gotta be higher than 2% for a $100 rebate. Where do you get that
number?

I could understand the $5 rebates on a box of blank DVD's getting that low
of a response...
