If you don't mind using Linux, you'll find that the BT implementation of
Linux, called BueZ (www.bluez.org), is a good development platform.
Download the source code and take a look at the sample programs. They're
a good start for own projects. There are also dozens of HowTos on the
BlueZ web site.

Nevertheless, you should download the BT spec from the BT SIG web site
(www.bluetooth.org). Since it is very complex for beginners, you should
also get you a good book on getting started with BT (programming).

Ciao,

Michael

BlueZ is not available for Windows. If you're interested in open source
BT stacks for Windows, you may want to take a look at FreeBT
(http://www.freebt.net). However, this project is still in alpha phase.

Other than that, I'm not really familiar with the Windows BT stack(s)
and the availability of documentation.

Hello,

If you want to program in java you could use bluecove. This project is
also in a alpha or beta state but already works well. You need to have
XP SP2 installed, because they still don't support the WIDCOMM Bluetooth
stack:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bluecove/
