Hi,

Does anyone have one of these?? (Logitech diNovo Media Desktop)

I am interested in buying one; but I do not really understand what their
full capabilities are.

Could someone please explain? What can the media pad do?

How do you rate the product as a whole?

Could someone please inform me.

Thanks

Danny

Well, Ido.

The keypad has the same look and feel of a laptop.

The media pad is just a separate numerical keypad with a small display where
you can find your date and time, perform and find the results of simple
calculations and even get a visual notice of new e-mail received.

This last feature is not working with my Outlook 2003.

It has been extremely well built. Very nice materials, specially the
aluminum buttons and media controls. My overall rate is very high, although
it takes a little time getting used to its feel.

It is also rather expensive.

Best regards,
Juan J.

Hi Danny,

I am proud user of the diNovo Desktop:

My Rating: 9 out of 10

+ The design is very cool
+ Keyboard, Media Pad and Mouse are built very solid
+ Bluetooth is HID-compatible, this means that the basic functionality of
the mouse, keyboard and media pad are provided with no logitech drivers on
any bluetooth-capable device that is HID compatible, too.
+ The range of the keyboard is very far, so the media pad can indeed be used
as a remote control
+ Mouse comes with rechargeable batteries

- Logitech Drivers can only be used with the original bluetooth base station
(so all the nifty extra-features cannot be used)
- Only a limited selection of software can be used with the advanced
functionality of the media pad (E-Mail notification, Progress of Media
Playback, Instant Messaging notification)
- Batteries inside the keyboard and mediapad are non-rechargeable
- Mediapad batteries are worn out pretty fast IMHO, (maybe it is because the
display is always showing the clock)

Overall: Although the cost of the diNovo Desktop is rather high, I think it
is worth the price.

HTH
Gottfried
