CD stuck in brand new laptop; paperclip trick does not work

Brand spanking new Compaq nx7010.
First time attempt at loading a CD.
Noticed it was kind of difficult to close the CD drive but I succeeded.
Not only is the CD not recognized as being in the drive but I can't
eject it. No noise, no nothing when I try, except the optical disk
light flashes green a few times.
Paper clip trick does not work; I tried both with the laptop on and
also with no power.
HELP!!

Take it back to the shop, and blame THEM :-)
