bad mistake,

formatted the hard drive- no drivers, nothing... want to install
windows xp, but the laptop wont recognise the cd rom drive.

please help

hello.
I have a tosh 3110 also.
you have to incorporate a cd rom driver in your floppy disk..
the question is : what is your cd rom ?
- toshiba,
- freecom,
- archos?

I hope you have a pcmcia cdrom, not an usb one...

Insert the bootable OS that you want to install into the CDROM drive
and as you turn on the computer press C as you see the Toshiba splash
screen, you should be able to boot up and install the OS.
