I have a dell lattitude laptop. I am booting from the boot disk I got with my pcmcia cdrom (archos). I have fdisk'd and formatted the hard-drive. I'm trying to install windows98 from my pcmcia cdrom. Not long after the setup procedure begins the laptop freezes on me. This is not specific to the windows setup because even dos will freeze if left alone for a few mins. I heard something about card and socket services so I downloaded 'cardsoft' and discovered that I wasnt really able to use the program properly. A few times on installing the cardsoft program I got a 'stack overflow' error. I edited the config.sys file and set the stacks to 64,512 and adjusted the files and buffers but to no avail. This is my last hope so any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
