Ok I just bought a new Dell server with (4) gigabit network cards running Win 2003 Server. Currently I notice that one card does all the transferring, while the other 3 nics sit idle.

How do I configure the network connection settings for the network cards to optimally function?

You don't not need 4 NICs if you don't have VMs running and the server isn't used as a gateway, but you could team 2 NICs to improve the server's network performance.
