I have a qwest 2wire 2701gh-d router. I am able to connect to the internet fine with the ethernet and wireless wifi options. I am trying to set up a home network for printer sharing and file sharing. My desktop is running windows 7 and is connected by ethernet (this is the computer with the printer). Then I have 2 laptops that are running windows vista that have just been using the wifi. When I try to create a network it never detects any devices with windows 7. And I cant run a homegroup since the other computers are windows vista. Can I run a network with this router, or is it just an internet access point?

PureBlue,

Exactly what type of "network" are you attempting to create? One that you can share files and devices through I presume, correct? To do so, you would just choose the folders you want to be accessible by the Windows Vista Machines and vice versa (files on Windows Vista machines to be accessible by the Windows 7 machine) and then enable sharing.

Also, should you require additional assistance Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5. It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads there for additional support.
