Hi,

I've bought a new assembled system few weeks ago. I've been facing a serious issue from the second week onwards.

I see that the local are connection of my system getting disconnected very frequently. It goes disconnected and then after few seconds, it connects back. But after sometime, i could see that it gets disconnected permenantly and the lights are off at the network card. Then i had to restart the system to get this connected again, but the same thing happens again after sometime.

Following is my system specification:
Intel® Core™2 Duo Desktop Processor E7500
Intel® Desktop Board DG41TY
Transcend 1GB DDR2, 700MHz
Segate 1TB HDD
Windows XP Professional with SP3

Diagnosing done so far:
Virus scan using Symantec End Point Protection with the latest updates
Virus scan using McAfee with the latest updates
&No virus found
Re-installing OS

Please do let me know if you have any updates i this issue.

Thanks
Sooraj

Have you tried a new cable and port on the router, if using one?
Have you tried new drivers for the nic?
Do you have another computer to test the cable and port and see if the problem happens there also?

Hi,

I just did the following and then it went off. Thanks for your support.

Goto Device Manager > Network adapters > Right-Click the 'Realtek' controller > select 'Properties' > select 'Advanced' tab and locate the option called "Link Speed". Change from "Auto-negotiation" to another option such as '1000Mbps', '100Mbps' or '10Mbps'.

Thanks
Sooraj
