Yes!

Do you see that strip of plastic with the ON/OFF
button above the keyboard..... that has to come off.
It is held in place by some snap clips - the best way
to remove it is to lever up either the left or right
ends and wiggle it until you hear the clips oepning.
It sounds awful - as though they are breaking -
but they are quite sturdy.

Under there you will find two screws holding the
keyboard in place. Remove them. Then lift the edge
that was secured by the screws which will release the
tabs that secure the bottom edge.

Under there you will find the ribbon cable in a
FRAGILE (beware - this connector can be easily
broken if not opened correctly) connector.

There you go!

You have to remove the 2 recessed screw on the bottom of the unit BEFORE prying off the on/off panel
(1 is a B12, the other a B6).

OOPS! Of course - you are dead right! I forgot about
those two - I had to replace the controller in a S1 this
week - what a right PITA - screws hidden everywhere,
under the LCD panel - under the palm rest - you even
have to remove the screw posts for the parallel and serial
ports!
