I have a Toshiba 1800 with a cracked 13.3" LCD screen, SHARP
LQ133X1LH63.

I am looking for a replacement and was wondering if anyone knows if a
SHARP LQ133X1LH62 LCD would work, as they seem to be more widely
available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am having no luck finding
any Toshiba parts info online.

THANKS

Among other places, these businesses sell Toshiba notebook parts:

Look for datasheets at Sharp Microelectronics's website
http://www.sharpsma.com/sma/products/display.htm
Those datasheets will tell you all you need to know. Finding a panel with the right approximate dimensions and electrical specs isn't too hard. Finding one which has the mounting holes and connectors right where you want them is a lot trickier!

Sometimes the cheapest way to get a replacement screen is to find a broken notebook using the exact model LCD you need, on eBay (assuming it's not the LCD that's the problem!). When I needed a new screen for an NEC Versa, I lucked out and found exactly what I needed in a parted-out Sager notebook, and I paid only around $30, so it was a very economical repair.

I'm on the same boat as you are. However, I've got several LCDs that, when
I'm not too lazy, will try and install into my broken Toshiba 2805 (which
I had smacked outta anger).

It appears that the possibilities are LG LP133X7, UB133X01, and the model
that you've mentioned. I frequent eBay and you'll find all of them on
eBay rather easily...

Anyway, when I get to it, I'll post my results

regards,

One more thing: I've worked on LCDs for over a decade, and I can't tell ya
how many times I've run across different model LCDs (especially from
Sharp) that turn out to be interchangeable with one another - so I
wouldn't doubt for one nanosec that your -63 LCD (and mine) is
interchangeable with the -62 models, and perhaps even the LP133X7s and UB
that I've mentioned, all of them are widely available on eBay.

That's it...
