Hi,

my Asus P5Q3 runs at 48-49°C. It keeps sending me warnings about it, but don't know how to deal with it. I have an Intel Q9550 installed (with the boxed cooler), 2x2GB CSX RAM modules with metal coolers on them, 2 HDDs, an Asus Geforce EN GT9800, and 550W power supply.

I built my config together only a few days ago, so I have not tried any real heavy duty yet, only some file transfer and archive extraction. When I switch on, the temp is already at 35-40°C, and it goes all the way up to 48°C. After 3-4 hours it reaches 49°C, that's the point when I turn it off, because I've really no idea about the safe temperature for this MB.

I've tried removing the side of the chassis, but the temp decreases only one or two degrees, and the warnings are still coming.

Any idea why does it heat up like that?
I'd really appreciate any help you could provide... thanks in advance.
