Does anyone have a favorite generalized motherboard repair place? My locale thinks p3s are new still, never mind the 5 year old prescott...I seek an answer nationally usa.

I have the infamous "since the dawn of computing" VRM soldered on the board burned error. Other than that the board is spotless. I have read over my head of 200watt capable VRM, newer versions, etc, and curious if my old board can get put of the 90w limit for my 130 watt prescott.

if not, I am buying another board shamefully, part of my quest in computing is recycling, and hanging onto machines for function more than a multicored benchmarking jackass...for more than a year at a junkpiled time...

thanks for helpful replies...

p.s. A celeron 633 barely loads this page. :(

You will pay twice as much for any custom repair work than it would cost for a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM that would be superior to what you have. Its not worth it unless you can do it yourself or know someone personally that could do it for a substantial discount.
