Hello guys, before I go on, here's my specs:

Corsair TX650
Phenom II X4 955
MSI 790GX-G65

My question is, can I install up to 8 GB (4 x 2GB) of DDR3 1333MHz? I need to run Virtual PCs and do development work. I believe 8GB of RAM would be very useful. I understand that the motherboard can support up to 16GB but the question is will the processor's memory controller limit the performance or cause instability issue? Cheers.

When you add more memory it does introduce a slightly higher latency, but it would only be noticeable by synthetic benchmarks. With more memory, you might also have to either increase the memory voltage or relax the speed or timing a bit. Even with all that considered, the very little drawback you might have to deal with will pale in comparison to not having enough RAM to run those VM.

Hopefully that is the case. Otherwise, I will have to fork out a lot more for upgrades.
