Hello, I am using windows 7 and I'm trying to install my wireless-G usb network adapter.
I followed the instructions on the booklet and have gone to the step where I connect the adapter after installation, but when I click on next afterwards, the "creating profile" screen doesn't appear.
And when I click on the wireless manager on the start up list, nothing comes up.
Is it because the program isn't compatible with windows 7?

Your analysis is probably correct. Obviously, worth visiting adapter manufacturer's website to see if Win7 driver is likely soon.

Alternatively Google the name/model number of your adapter and the word chipset and see if any suggestions as t chipset manufacturer comes up, then pursue that and see if anyone has found a Win7 driver for the chipset -- that driver may do the trick with your adapter.

Sadly, there are already a lot of people looking for drivers for devices for Win 7 that Microsoft have overlooked -- it was the same with Vista.

These adapters are now so cheap that it may be simpler to buy a new one that includes a Win 7 driver.

Karentyyau,

It could be because the application is not compatible with Windows 7 -- yes. Try this: Go into device manager, right click on the adapter (the one with the exclamation point) and select "update driver software." Let Windows 7 search for the drivers and you should be all good to go.

Should you require additional assistance Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5. It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads there for additional support.
