Wirelessly connect netgear wgr614 v9 to netgear wgr614 v9

Hi, I have just bought two netgear wgr614 v9. One is connected to my cable modem and has airport on the network. I want to connect the other netgear wirelessly to the first (or primary) to extend my wireless range for internet connection. I have read a lot of forums and am left reeling by technical phrasing etc. Can anybody offer a simple to follow guide as to how to do this? I read somewhere that the IP, network name, password and channel should be the same on both routers but cannot re-find the info.

By the way, I work on a mac
