well thats a nice little set up but you didnt specify what it would be replacing. normally you dont need to get the PC2 8500 memory, PC2 6400 is usually sufficient, even for gaming.
thats another thing. what are you using this for and what is your buget?

Get this RAM instead:
mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 $45

What kind of PSU and case do you have?

This card is faster and costs $13 less:

You can use the savings to upgrade to GA-EP45-UD3P ($12 more than the GA-EP45-UD3R) and that will allow you to run HD 4850 Crossfire later.

Thank for the replies.

Im going to be using it for Gaming, Adobe Flash CS4, Adobe Photoshop, basically ... some movie encoding once in a while...

What i have right now is

Motherboard Asus A8N-E
Proc Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester
2 x 512 Corsair XMS Memory
2 x 512 Kingston Memory
Evga 9800 GTX+
PSU Cooler Master extreme Duo 600W
Case = unknown, need to recheck

My budget is 350 Max (for mobo, proc and mem, but those 350.00 need to include bringing it to my country which is like 30$, therefore i have lets say that $320 for those 3 components)

wow ya you defiantly need the new processor, i suggest the mobo aevm suggested, and the memory he suggested. if you can afford it the 4850 is an upgrade, but its not the most necessary upgrade quite yet.

Reply to ilovebarny

Which brand and model of the 4850 will you recommend? Is it better than the 9800GTX?

Reply to DXXPublic

9800GTX+ i meant

Reply to DXXPublic

yes its better than the 9800gtx+ (according to the benchmarks i posted earlier), the one aevm suggested i believe was a sapphire. the nice thing about that one is it has a dual slot cooler, which is nice cause the 4850 runs hot.

Reply to ilovebarny

Ok i managed to sold my card to a friend that was just gonna buy a 9800GTX+ like mine :) ... So my final configuration will be:

Mobo
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Proc
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

Mem
mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

Video
SAPPHIRE 100245L Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card

............

Any last recommendations?

do you have a decent heatsink for your cpu? if you are going to overclock you wont get far with the stock heat sink.

Reply to ilovebarny
