Hi guys, seeing as noone posted one i thought it might be cool to post a Halloween thread. Keeping with the theme, instead of writing about which is the best of X components or how to do Y really well, I thought it would be interesting to see if any of you have come across any components that are better suited to a graveyard than a desk. Which component would you steer well clear of and banish to a fiery grave?

Mine is Windows ME - the supposed successor to windows 98, it offered almost nothing new and sucked my computer's resources in vampiric proportions. It always crashed and for some reason had more compatability issues that windows 98.
The only time I have ever upgraded with negative effects

Happy Halloween lads!

Video cards from Diamond, network products from Belkin, and anything advertised as "food" which contains partially hydrogenated vegetable oil.

700 series from nvidia (mobo chipset) they are extremely buggy and scare the sh*t out of me... the only good one is 790i

also stay clear of core i7 for a couple months as it doesn't really bring any major improvemnts... at a major cost hike... atleast to begin with... once priecs settle and it evens out a little bit it will be a much better processor...

just like the gtx 280 at 600 $... now it can be had for like 350$ and although its still a bit expensive for its performance... its much more attractive

I would have to say iPods, heck pretty much everything Apple. The computers (if you can call them that) and iPods are so proprietary. It's pretty much impossible to break the mold of a Mac/iPod. Ever purchase music from the iTunes store? Good luck getting it to work with anything besides iTunes or iPod. Want surround sound? EAX effects? A quality sound card? Not happening on a Mac! And for the craptacular music listening experience you get listening on those dinky ear phones or integrated speakers you are going to pay through the nose!

Want a good graphics card to play some newer games? Not happening! How about overclocking that processor? Heck you can't even choose your own processor! Watch high definition movies?

Do you want to pay $400 for a RAM upgrade? Look hip at the gym with your overpriced mp3 player? Well that you can do....

and this is why I am NOT bobbing for Apple this Halloween!

------------------------------ Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free you can't take the sky from me.
