Im thinking about buying this computer.
it has a nice processor and enough ram and hard drive space.

The only problem is the Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 7100.

If I buy a Sapphire 512mb 4850 do you think the integrated graphics will interfere or cause any problems?

No, it'll be automatically disabled.

You need to find out the PSU Specs..........
There is a change it could not handle that GPU..........

its not good theory.

When you install the new card it SHOULD automatically dissable the onboard graphics. This isnt always the case but most times it does. If it dosent then there is a setting in the bios to turn it of yourself.
If this does happen (It really shouldnt) and you need more advice on entering the bios and where to find the settings just post and someone will assist you

It's very likely you'd need a bigger psu to power the HD 4850. Most oem computers come with small power supplies.

+1 foe zenmaster on the PSU. Knowing Acer they probably put in a 350 or 400W OEM PSU. Most here recommends a quality PSU with more than 450W. By quality I mean PC Power & Cooling, Antec, OCZ, Corsair.

@OP: Would you be interested in DIY build?

Theres even a chance the mb in that computer does NOT have a pci-e slot and cant be upgraded with an add in card .

Reply to Outlander_04

alright thnx

i see that the psu is only 300w
I'll consider buying a different system

Reply to amir4pro

well i dont have a problem with building a system.

The only thing that concerns me is the price. I'm on a really tight budget of about $700 (w/o shipping) which has to include cpu, mobo, ram, gpu, psu, case and a cooler.

I live in Canada and I'll be buying the system from newegg.

Good for our friends to the north.

^+1.

But seriously though, you Canadians still overpay. Also how about the gas prices there? During summer when I was in Canadia it was $1.25/L (~$4/Gal).

Lol, Americans and their SUVs + cheap gas.

I know a guy who went up north, and was caught doing 100 miles per hour because he thought the speed limit was in miles/hr instead of kilometer/hr. :na:

I'm also wondering if a 4850 is really necessary. I got a 20" Samsung monitor and i don't do too much heavy gaming (nothing near crysis)
