Huh? A dual core pentium 4? Did you mean hyper threading?

it's hyper threading he meant. or it's one of the guys who don't know that p4 is only a fake dualcore. tell him that before he buys a new gpu!

i know its not a dual core, all of those cards will run on my machine rolli?

Without a better power supply and CPU, 7900GT is about the max at the moment. You could get a better card but without Vista or a better CPU you wont see much improvement. You could try overclocking....

Any cards above your level would probably overheat.

what would you suggest as a the next best way of gaining fps then? short of buying a new system.

Reply to beavlol

I would get a 4850.
People often overestimate cpu and psu requirements. Better gpu almost always give better fps.

you answered your own question. sorry but that system look to be at its max. Anything more is just a waste of money.

your Motherboard can fit a C2D, as it is a 775 pin MotherBoard

82.99 get you a new C2D E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz.

after that the sky is the limit as in terms of upgrades for that setup.

They will all work and be a improvement in your system. By going a little higher (8800gt/9800gt, hd4830) you can turn on some AA with out loosing fps.

according this cpu support list the best cpu your board supports are dual core pentium 4 and if you have one of those you have nothing to worry about going with the higher ones.
