Ok.... This is my first post here so i'll try to explain everything.
I am running 2 3850HDs in CrossfireX mode on a DFI 780FX Lanparty Dark motherboard with an AMD quad core Phenom X4 AM+ 2.6Ghz with 4GB of Kingston ram DDR2.

I will also post from my Directx9 info... Anyway My power supply is a Rosewell.... that is black and has a 2 Blue led fans on it and i remember it being SLi certified but i did get it a few years ago (I am thinking it might be the problem) ...

other then that i will have to give you more information later when i can actually pull out the computer and check it out.

The problem is, that most games I run on high end up crashing. I try running Crysis or Mercenaries 2 and in a random amount of time the computer just freezes up on me and i have to restart it manually.
I think this might be caused due to my power supply being pretty old.. as my mother board instead of having a 4 slot connector next to the CPU for power it has a 8 or 6 slot connection.
the manual for my mother board says if my power supply only has 4 prongs on it the motherboard will still run fine. If i get a new power supply then i would defiantly would welcome any help finding one that has this 8 prong plug for this connection.

anyway I also am running off windows XP pro which does not have DirectX 10 idk if this is a big problem though. one thing i thought of is that this might be an overheating issue, this is what i thought when the system first crashed because my sound card was right on top of the graphics card in the PCI slot, I did how ever remove the sound card after the first crash and now i am using the onboard sound (which saddens me).
The last thing i can put in consideration is that I never heard of DFI before and maybe i just bought a flaky motherboard... I got kind of sketched out when i opened the motherboard box to find they placed a actual AMD chipset sicker on the motherboard its self (I took it off of course). I noticed when my computer started back up from the crash (doesn't happen every crash) I got this error message with an ATI logo but a says its from Microsoft .net framework its huge so here it goes

That was the most painful read I have had all week.
Please use the <ENTER> key to separate into meaningful paragraphs.
Also, the dumps you posted do nothing but take up a few pages of space.
Please don't do that again.

You are correct about the PSU, Rosewell makes some of the worst PSU's on the market.
Return it to the garbage can where it belongs and get a new quality PSU.
What you need is a 550W+ PSU from Corsair, PCP&C, Enermax, Silverstone, Seasonic or the Antec Earthwatts line.

If I remember correctly, the 3850 dumps all it's heat back into your case.
Make sure you have enough airflow to keep everything cool.
If you need to, get a dremmel and make some new mounts for 120mm fans to cool it more.
Check your temps with Coretemp for the CPU and GPU-Z for the GPU's.

After you get your new PSU and fans, format your hard drive and reinstall windows as it sounds like your install is fracked.
Make sure to install only the latest drivers as downloaded from DFI and ATI's websites.
Run windows updates, reinstall your games and you should be ready to rock.

Save all that to a file, delete 95% of your first post, delete all of your second post. Those of us who want to read it can ask and you can send it to us. You are simply turning away people who might have helped, if they didn't have to scroll through 100 pages worth of meaningless debug information.

Great thank you and again sorry about the extra junk in my post

Yeah, that PSU is a nice one.
Much better than your Rosewell POS.
You should have no problems on the power side using it.

Ok so the new PSU came today. I installed it fine the PC booted with out a problem. But when i tried to run Mercenaries 2 again it crashed like it did before.

I uninstalled ATI cat, Rebooted in safe mode used driver cleaner to wipe out the rest of the the video driver. and restarted.
I installed the latest version of ATI cat and rebooted again... Well the Crossfire welcome came up I clicked configure and i got the same error message... and ATI Cat crashed...

I rebooted again and ATI CAT loaded fine. I then went it to the options and turned on crossfireX. I ran Mercenaries 2 and it ran fine and didn't crash in its normal spot crashing spot. (weird?) anyway i didn't get to play it for that long but it seemed to be running fairly well. got further then i never have with out it crashing lol.

I know some people think older ati CAT versions run more stable so idk. but as of now its running ok. I just wonder why it kept crashing randomly.

anyway i hope this is easyer to read then my first post.
