Ive got some questions bout oc'ing

ive been told that it is better to run an overclock with a smaller muliplyed and higher FSB

is this true?

for eg. 200x11 gives u 2,2GHz but aparrently its better to run 220x10.

i cnt get my head round this coz its running at da same GHz.

What would you do with a old stock cpu cooler. Is it useless. i just got a gigabyte g power ll and its AWSOME!!! its running 10 degress cooler under full load + overclocked 10%!

Can i mount it on a graphics card? or on the mobo heatsink?

Thanks
Mike

Have you read the sticky in the OC section yet? It would be helpful if you start there and then come back with questions.

Since it sounds like you are asking about FSB, I would assume you have a Core2Duo or Core2Quad - here's the thread (it's at the top of the OC forum section)

I figured when you were talking about multipliers and FSB that it was a good guess. The new intels (i7 - 1366) use QPI, so OCing is completely different with them.
