I got a Palm Tungsten T3 for Christmas and I'm looking to accessorize, seeking,
tips, etc.

1.) What are my best Wi-Fi options for using my home 802.11g network and for
"wardriving?" The SanDisk Wi-Fi +256 MB card doesn't list T3 compatibility. I
know Palm makes a Wi-Fi SDIO card, but has anyone had any experience with the
Enfora Wireless LAN Portfolio (http://tinyurl.com/3to9w)? I like it because it
doesn't require the SD slot, as does the Palm branded SDIO card, leaving room
for a big 1 GB storage card which I've already ordered.

2.) Can anyone suggest a good car mount with power? I'll be using the Tungsten
with a DeLorme Blue Logger GPS I just ordered.

3.) Will there be any way I can get instant messaging clients, particularly
Yahoo Messenger and AIM, to run on the Palm? If the answer is no, will I be able
to use the Web-based Yahoo Messenger with the Tungsten's Web browser?

Thanks for any and all help -- I'm looking forward to exploring what all I can
do with my Palm Tungsten T3.

With heavy use and possible rapid depletion of battery, perhaps one of
the 'inverters' now available would be good for providing low-amperage
AC power to the Palm's transformer.

What say, PDA veterans?

The WiFi options are the Palm One WiFi card and the Enfora. I considered the
Enfora for some time but I decided against it because of the PDA retention
method in the case. Basically is uses velcro on the back of the T3. The
reason I don't like this is it inteferes with the slider action and makes it
more difficult to use the T3 in another case that doesn't use velcro for
attachment.

I liked the Enfora case because of the notebook style portfolio and the
separate power.

Seidio is one option. They have a powered car mount that should be just the
ticket. http://www.seidioonline.com/ There is also Gomadic,
http://www.gomadic.com/pdamoauho.html, which has some similar units.

Not sure about AIM, but there is a Yahoo client for Palm. I could not get it
to work with my T3, it kept crashing and I had to reset the Palm.

What I like best about the Enfora case is that it doesn't use the SD slot,
leaving it available for storage. I have a 1 GB SD card on the way and I figure
that'll fill any storage needs I may have.

Arkon has a decent one as well, but I'll check out your recommendations. Thanks!

Any ideas where I can find the Palm Yahoo client? THe only downloads I've seen
on Yahoo's site are for Mac, Windows and (I think) Linux. Don't remember seeing
one available for Palm OS.

Thanks for your help -- it's a good start!

Here is what I downloaded that didn't work on the T3.

http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com/download/palm.html

There is also an application called Chatopus which claims to be Yahoo
compatible

http://www.chatopus.com/

Good luck
