I just bought a new computer, Dell XPS 630 (Yeah, i know, should have built it myself... don't have the time).

But anyway, i have an ATI Radeon HD3870 512MB GDDR4, and 4GB of DDR2 PC 6400 RAM in the machine. I remember when I tried to add a video capture/tv tuner card on the dell website, it said there was a conflict and i didn't have room for it. The specs on the site say that I should have a PCIe x1, x8, and x16 slot available, as well as two empty PCI slots. I haven't recieved the machine yet, so I can't check what is available, but i'd assume that it's just the PCIe x1 and x8 slots.

What I would like is a card that can act as a TV Tuner/recorder, as well as a video capture from s-video from a VCR source. Basically, what options am I looking at? What brands should I stick to? What brands should I avoid? It's been a long time since I've been back into this kind of thing, and working with a PC again as my main desktop machine....

Any starting points? thanks.

A few i've seen that I THINK would be a good idea...

Happauge WinTV HVR1800 - $79.99 on newegg
Diamond ATI TV Wonder 650 - $106.99 on newegg
