Hi guys my name is kevin and im a newb.
I just built a new computer and it has a intel core 2 quad q8200, 320 wd sata, some crappy 4 gb ddr2, and a asus p5e-vm hdmi. I haven't built a computer for a good 8 years, so any previous stuff is useless.
So here is the problem:(BTW i don't have windows installed on the hard drive yet)
It starts up fine until it says please flash your bios to unleash full power of the chip.
Which i try to do with a floppy or a cd or a usb with the updated bios on them.
The flasher doesn't work since i have no directories installed since i can't install windows.
Since i don't windows installed yet i can't get past this bios flash.
I tried using my usb drive converter on my laptop to find the drive to format it.
however it cannot find it.
So is either my hard drive DOA or how do i bypass the bios updater?
Thank guys

Using another pc, copy the asus crashfree bios update utility off your motherboard driver cd to the usb drive, along with the bios version you need. If your cd doesn't have it, check asus website.
