Im confused on what heatsink and cpu fan to get....?
1. the size of alot of the ones im seeing scares me a bit cause im useing a mid tower case...?
2.Will the 790 northbridge chipset will it get in the way???
I sure could use some help on this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did not think a cpu heatsink and fan would be such a pain..! maybe im a TARD!

You can do a lot better for the same price.

The only thing I can get behind here is the video card, and the idea of crossfire ready.

Now, you could argue that you get better CF performance at a reasonable price with your motherboard. However, you then gimp yourself with a slow CPU. For about the same price you get a great new chipset with the P45 plus a really nice processor that will boost performance well over any minor performance you got from the 790FX board in CF.

I like that 790FX, it does Crossfire at full speed x16+x16, while the P5Q Pro doesn't.

I'd get a quad CPU (Phenom 9850 Black Edition), with that kind of budget, but that's just me. If it's mostly for games then dual is fine.

Good MB and video card and RAM.

Dump the ATA-100 (IDE) hard disk, get a WD6400AAKS instead.

Also, get yourself a better case. For example Antec 900 is $80 with free shipping at newegg now. Or RC-690, if you don't want lights.

Get a Corsair 750TX PSU from newegg.

Cooler: based on newegg reviews for that MB, I can tell you the Zalman 9700 fits. I don't normally recommend that cooler because I find it rather expensive. However, with these Asus Deluxe boards, it's very important to get a cooler that fits. For example the Freezer 7 won't fit on a P5Q Deluxe because the board has some cooling pipes that get in the way.

avem its for games 95% of the time.

I think you'll like it, I'm running most of that myself.
