Am i correct in thinking the ATI Hybrid Graphics Technology and Nvidia Hybrid SLI both do the same thing?

as in they use the onboard for stuff like windows graphics and only use the graphics card when in game thus saving power and heat??

i believe they do the same thing but i would recommend nvidia because i think you can dedicate your mobo graphic to run physics. (based on 8+series)
