Which of these 3 Motherboards are the best. p.s im looking for a Motherboard that has a Nvidia Hybird SLI feature so that i can save power, lower sound etc, and from what iv read it seems only AMD chips offer this function.

Motherboards:

Gigabite - GA-M78SM-S2H - http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Product [...] uctID=2817 (GeForce 8200 chipset)

Asus M3N78-EM - http://uk.asus.com/products.aspx?l [...] odelmenu=1 (GeForce 8300 chipset)

XFX MI-A78S-8209 - http://www.xfxforce.com/en-gb/prod [...] 08200.aspx (GeForce 8200 chipset)

I intend to use the AMD Phenom X4 9950 2.6GHz Black Edition Socket AM2+ as its the best one on sell.

is this a good set up, is there an intel that has a simular tech to SLI hybird?

any help would be much appriciated thanks!

get a 790g from AMD

it automatically overclocks (with latest chipset) to like 3 ghz and has integrated graphics with something very similar to hybrid sli

I assume your looking into an HTPC so i would recommend doing a fair bit of research on a tv tuner card :D

im actually going for a All round PC, but is kinda HTPC as it will be connected to the main TV etc, so quite noise, low power compsumption less heat etc are important factors.

thats why i was looking into the hybird SLI as i could have the cards off until i turn on again,

hmm after reading you reviews i get your point on the 790g, just that feature is a deal maker for me, does anyone know if overclocking is still possible on the motherboards i specified above

Hi wel who cares about overclocking right now the speed is allready there for moives and games and alot more Etc plus over heat is a big issue, yes they all overclock if your going to overclock make sure u got a over heads room memory rams like PC2-9600 and 9200 memory rams. but hybird SLI is not the way to go for this motherboard even the onboard video card sucks on thes motherboard good for offices or something, the TV sucks slow but it plays some moives depens what codec you downloaded but your end up upgradeing a video card like I did. The 9800 GTX for something like that for hybrid Power. SLI on a 8200A motherboard would take a 8500 GT or a 8600 GT and that all the SLI you would do for a 8200A even though i haven't seen a SLI hybird video card made for this type of low end onboard video card motherboard mabe its the 9500 GT no clue if they work for hybird SLi for 8200A motherboard, all the 8's type series type model video card doesn't support hybrid SLI, the 9's and the 200's haves hybrid power and Hybrid SLI to save alittle bit of power from haveing a video card upgrade onto a motherboard. but your end up witha 750/780 chipset nvidia for a hybrid SLI mode. The gigabyte is small for me it take 8 GB of rams but just two slot of memory this is for a micro ATX something small for a small case. the XFX is way cool it does the Error reporting Bios numbers reporting LCD screen on the motherboard. plus very easy overclock it got a nice heatsink for the chipset to stay cools.asus is allright it about the same of my ECS 8200A. but it have extra parts on the board than my ECS, but yeah if your going for a AMD 9950 they all support the AMD and you want nvidia chipset and nvidia brand type video card. thes are good for single video card upgrade they suppor the hybrid Power for HDTV or LCD TV. your end up getting a WinTV HDTV tunner card and your end up wanted a sound card too. just like any other AMD motherboard too. go to the Nvidia website and click on the hybrid stuff it show how and which video card that you can add on tho thes type of motherboard and even the better ones too. kinda neat tools to look at and wonder what your need with that nvidia chipset. good luck on your system
