Hello everyone,

Well I found out I can't build my own computer and get reimbursed for the cost from my employer, so buying a pre-made will have to suffice.

Here are the two options that I think are best for me, within my budget of $1000 and for what I need.

MicroFlex 82B
HP m9300t

Here is what I need the desktop for, gaming (WAR&Warcraft Lich King), excel/powerpoint, internet surfing/downloading movies/burning movies. Not looking to overclock or get fancy with it, just something that will run smooth for playing games and doing work related task.

MicroFlex 82B Config (what I figured would be best for what I need)

Mid Tower Black ATX Case with 450W Power Supply
No Monitor
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3GHz 6MB Cache)
4096MB DDR 2 Memory 800MHZ
250GB Serial ATA 7200 RPM
No Second Hard Drive
Mitsumi FA402A 7 in 1 Media Drive (1.44 Floppy and CF/MD/SM/SD/MMC/MS Card reader)
20X Dual Layer (8.5GB)Multi Format DVD Burner
No Modem
On Board 10/100/1000 Network Card
Microsoft Internet Keyboard and Optical Mouse
High Definition Audio subsystem
Nvidia 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready
No Speaker
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium

All that for $768

HP
Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad processor Q6600 (2.4GHz)
4GB DDR2-800MHz dual channel SDRAM (4x1024)
768MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600GS, DVI-I, VGA, HDMI
320GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive
LightScribe 16X max. DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive
15-in-1 memory card reader, 2 USB, 1394, video, audio
ATSC-NTSC TV tuner with PVR, FM tuner, remote
None (Integrated 7.1 channel sound w/ front audio ports)
Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
Norton Internet Security(TM) 2008 - 15 month
HP stereo speakers (2.0)
HP keyboard and HP optical mouse

All that for $722

Website for both configuration options.

MicroFlex 82B

HP m9300T

Any advice would be appreciated on the configuration, and a good monitor to go along with either of these systems.

Thanks
Nawvid

my persoanl preference would be the second, but both are fairly similar

Both are major overkill for the sort of work you mention.
The first one is better for games, and the second one for work.

This guy explains it better than I can:

The 8800GT has 112 stream processors, while the 9600GS has 96.

That's a tough one.

The HP has the better all-round processor, but the Microflex has a more game oriented setup (GPU/CPU)
