Hey fellas.

I've currently got a single Gainward 8800GTS 640MB card and was thinking of adding a second. My question is whether my 600watt PSU will be enough to manage both.

This is the PSU I have at present:

Some of my tech-minder friends inform me that it should be adequate, but I thought I'd ask a larger community before buying one.

The rest of my system is:

AMD 64 X2 5600+ CPU
Asus M2N32-SLI Mainboard
4GB PC6400 Memory
Seagate 250GB HDD
Creative Xtreme Gamer Soundcard
DVD-RW

how did u recently get a 640mb 8800, arent those pretty outta date right now?? do those 512mb 8800gt's smoke em? i wouldnt bother going sli, cause a single gefore 260 or 4870 would smoke it.

This is off topic...

EvilEdwin I would not use two 8800GTS (640mb) .... Sell the 8800 and get a 9800GTX for fewer than 200 bucks. For that matter sell the 8800 and get two 9800GTX for under $400 minus profits from the 8800 = $250?

I dont have data to back this up (because im too lazy to go find some) but i bet one 9800GTX would be marginally slower then two 8800gts (640MB)

8800GTS (640mb) are crap now, and yes legendsn3verdie two 8800GT (G92) will smoke two 8800GTS (640mb)

My 8800GTS 640 SLI system runs fine with my PCP&C 610W.

Yes, they're slower than current cards, but I bought my first in January of 07, and got my second several months ago for 100 bucks.

I will get a new card when I can buy a card for less than $200 that is at least 50% faster than my current setup.
