3DMark06 Scores...Amazing...
Forum Overclocking : CPUs - 3DMark06 Scores...Amazing...
OK, I started this thread because my other one, "Amazing 3DMark06 Score!", was closed do to a little mishap...lol...
Anyway I have a phenom II X2 550 and I unlocked the cores so it's a Phenom II X4 B50...I have quit a lot of threads on this subject...time to move on soon...lol
I was trying to compare the scores of this "home-made quad" to a real quad core like the 940 or a 955...
My friend has a phenom II X4 955 and it scored 4421 in 3DMark an overall score somewhere of 12533...with a 4850 card...
I think his scores are lower than mine because of window vista...
Here are my scores:
Hardware/Software:
phenom II X2 550 unlocked to be a phenom II X4 B50
4gig G.Skill 1333 ddr3 ram
GA MA770T UD3P
Sapphire ATI Radeon 4850
Win XP 32
Stock settings and speeds
(CPU @ 3.1, graphics gpu @ 625, graphics memory @ 993)
CPU OCed @ 3.2, graphics gpu @ 650, graphics memory @ 1050
CPU OCed @ 3.6, graphics gpu @ 700, graphics memory @ 1200
CPU OCed @ 3.8, graphics gpu @ 700, graphics memory @ 1200
Anyone who has scores for their quads pleas post them up here for comparison...even Intel CPU score will be appreciated...thanks

Here is the link to my score. You beat my i7/4670 by over 5000 points.

I wasn't really comparing the overall score...which depends on the graphics card a lot...I was more interested in the CPU score...but thanks for everything guys...

Sorry....

i know, just jokin
wish my gigabyte had the right bios to unlock my triple core *sigh*... what games have you tried your unlocked 550 with?

Hey...there's nothing to worry about, It was kinda fun and interesting...did ryan give you your points back or did you have to sit around posting a whole bunch of stuff to catch up?

I tried Need for Speed Pro Street, WOW, Call of Duty 4, and Crysis...man crysis runs well enough but if I had a 4890 I would get way nicer frame rates...

i got all my points back but everything i wrote was deleted.

overshocked.... your rig is ridiculously badass
E8500 with 1.8v?!?! what kind of "air" cooling are you usin, thermalelectric??

Nope, not TEC
just a plain old CCF, when i did 1.8v i had fans everywhere. You can see a screen shot if u dont believe me.
it was rediculously hot at that point. 78C idle

Reply to overshocked
i believe you but id love to see some screenies of that
78C idle?! how the hell could you possibley do any prime95 like that? or was that just a suicideshot?

Reply to rambo117
Doesn't the CPU just die? Maybe slowly?
I want to see some of those pics Overshocked
| rambo117 wrote : i believe you but id love to see some screenies of that |
HEEELLL NO
i dont run it like that all the time LOL.
It took about 2 days to get there but it was well worth 4.94Ghz on air (=
im uploading screenies as we speak.

Reply to overshocked
Haha, I can't wait to see these screenies.
It was horribly unstable at 4.94. You can see how it was making errors on the sidebar in vista (=
Here is a screenie of the prime test at 4.94
Here are the screenies of the benchmark at 4.75 (never tested it at 4.94)

Wow, nice. Personally I'd be too afraid to fry my CPU if I was gonna set it at 1.8V
^ im going to try it again when i make my phase change.
And the HSH

god man, your insane
my pi 1M takes about 19sec even when OCed to 3.7GHZ!
well thanks for the pics, i know not to get into an OCing/benchmarking competition with you
you dont happen to have the stalker cs or crysis benchmarking tool, id love to compare with your OCed system

Ive got the stalker one but i dont like it... it doesnt work like it should.
Sometimes at higher clockspeeds i will get lower scores.
Lets just stick with the traditional stuff (=

I don't don't have an AMD processor, but since you said Intel scores where permissable i do have one of those
This is my highest processor score that i could find a screenshot of. I've never benchmarked it higher then 3.45ghz that i can remember.
And here's is my highest 3dmark06 score i have a record of. I don't recall ever passing this score. Processor is actually at 3.2ghz with a 1600mhz FSB. I had some long term stability issues at 3.45ghz. Motherboard related.
I'm running a Q6600, and a G92 8800GTS 512mb card.
Unfortunately the poor thing is apart
Trying to track down the cause of it not wanting to turn on. PSU was replaced, and the replacement motherboard is on its way.

oh man, i just had an awful experience with that... ended up finding out that it was my case shorting my motherboard so i made a little "improvise" to the case. added some of that sound proofing foam stuff and put it on the mobo tray, booted up, problem solved

Nice score
4890's in Xfire pushed a little bit.....

Wow...some of you guys have the craziest systems I've ever seen!!! So far Seems as though my "home-made quad" gets scores higher than Intel Core2 Quad...The i7 obviously beats mine...but this is not a war...lol...
That xeon @ 5.3!!! is amazing!!! Wonder how much that costs...Anyway, thanks guys. Any more scores out there? lol
Here is mine!
Ahhh...again the i7 shows it's performance. Nice...
gosh you guys, you and your ridiculous systems.... (brian in particular) how hot does your xeon get? insane OC

That run was done at -151~-153 degrees Celsius. The cards were on stock but the GPU core was adjusted to 1.45v and the memory was running at 1.3v
I was also using two PSU's....One OCZ 800w for the cards and a Ultrax3 1600w for the CPU /HDD/fans.

151C?!?!? how is that even possible? wouldnt your rig just go BOOM...

-151~-153?!?! Negative 151~153??? What kind of cooling did you use?
negative 151c
So share the secret...What kind of cooling did you use?
lol, missed the minus sign
yes, please share us your secret. LN2?

ooh...nice...You did that to just see how high you go and benchmark? I mean you didn't keep it like that forever, did you?
| rambo117 wrote : wow... speechless.

Thanks
Imagine if I laid out all the subzero pics I have had from the last two years....oh the madness that would ensue
| videl wrote : ooh...nice...You did that to just see how high you go and benchmark? I mean you didn't keep it like that forever, did you? |
yeah, of course
The longest sessions usually go for are around 6~8 hours. I do have a single stage though that I kept a nice E8600 at 5GHz for 3 months just for kicks as a gaming rig
That's something that I couldn't do...Nice!
So, I see you're new to the forum...Welcome, this place is loaded with lots of cool people that are fun to talk to...

It seems like a nice forum. Think I will stick around. Thanks for the Welcome videl
btw,
never say you could not do it man, anything can be done if you so choose to try

Thanks Brian, I'll remember that...

Whoa......Amazing system Brian Y. Pwnage
That's it from a 500 dollar video card?
I really want to see if i can hit 30K from TriFire 4770's. Best part of my system is that the 4.2Ghz I7 is one of the hated C0 stepping chips.
