mychael616,

Sensor View is a non-standard monitoring utility, which like the utilities packaged with motherboards, shows CPU temperature only, but not Core temperatures. Since it's best to monitor both sets of temperatures, as well as all the other system parameters shown in Sensor View, download SpeedFan 4.34. SpeedFan can be accurately calibrated by using my Core 2 Quad and Duo Temperature Guide, which explains the differences between CPU temperature and Core temperatures.

If you're interested in monitoring Core temperatures only, then the most accurate utility available is Real Temp 2.6. The link shown below in my signature contains a link to Real Temp in the Introduction Section, as well as a link to SpeedFan in the Tools Section. I highly recommend that you go to Real Temp's download page, click on the link to the documentation, and read it thouroghly. The documentation explains the DTS sensor problems that exist with 45 nanometer processors, and how to test your E8400.

Hope this helps,

Comp :sol:
